The International Alliance of Inhabitants at the Mediterranean Social Forum

Barcelona, 16-18 June 2005

The International Alliance of Inhabitants (IAI) took part in the Mediterranean Social Forum in Barcelona (16-18 June 2005) with a series of initiatives and meetings aimed at strengthening the solidarity between inhabitants’ associations of countries around the Mediterranean. The goal was to provide inhabitants with new instruments for gaining knowledge and mobilizing to support their claim to construct and enjoy the city. The IAI took part as an observer in the meeting of the coordinating committee of the Forum of Local Authorities, organized the seminar “Mediterranean Zero Evictions! Regional perspectives of the global campaign”, as well as acting as co-promoter for the seminar “People’s University of Social Movements and/or Knowledge Networks”.
