GYPSY EVICTION UNLAWFUL

El día 12 de abril, un juez del Tribunal Supremo falló en contra de la decisión del Municipio del Distrito de Basildon de continuar el trabajo de las excavadoras en los terrenos de Hovefields Avenue, un asentamiento gitano próximo a Dale Farm, la comunidad itinerante más numerosa del Reino Unido a la que se ha estado hostigando durante los cuatro últimos años.
European body slams Italy’s treatment of Roma
In a landmark decision, Italy was found to have violated the rights of its Roma population by the Council of Europe’s European Committee of Social Rights.The Committee found Italy in violation of the prohibition on discrimination and violations of the rights of Roma people to adequate housing; social, legal and economic protection; protection against poverty and social exclusion; and the right of migrant Roma families to protection and assistance.
